Like many great ideas, Smart Gnome was born out of a need. A need for a smart home solution that respects your privacy and works reliably, even when your Wi-Fi doesn’t. We noticed a gap in the market where every major player was heavily reliant on cloud-based systems, which not only compromised user privacy but also became redundant during internet outages.  Additionally, even with functioning Wi-Fi, we noticed companies often exerted excessive control, such as imposing unexpected subscription fees or withdrawing support for purchased devices, effectively rendering them useless. This realization sparked our mission – to create a locally hosted, no-fee smart home and security system that you can trust.

Our team, a group of passionate engineers, privacy advocates, and technology enthusiasts, has worked tirelessly to develop a system that stands strong on the pillars of reliability, ease of use, and, above all, user privacy.
